Sooke Business Directory
We distribute 7000 copies annually for free to local households and businesses in Sooke, East Sooke, Jordan River and Port Renfrew.
Raffle Calendar
Participants eagerly anticipate a chance to win prizes from local retailers with weekly draws throughout the year.
Grade Two Swim Program
Since 2007, Sooke Lions Club has sponsored free swimming lessons (transportation included) at Seaparc for all Sooke second graders, offering essential swimming skills and promoting safety and confidence in the water.
School Bursaries
Annually, several Sooke students each receive a $1000 bursary to assist in advancing their post-secondary education.
The next application deadline is May 2025.

Christmas Hamper Program with the Sooke Food Bank
Sooke Lions volunteer to their time and care to helping the Sooke Food Bank create Christmas food hampers for those in need. Not only are beautiful food hampers built, but also all children receive Christmas presents!

Sooke Cemetery Maintenance
Opened in 1922 by the Sooke Harbour Cemetery Company at the corner of Sooke and Idlemore in Saseenos, Sooke Harbour Cemetery has approximately 500 graves. Sooke Lions Club took over maintenance in 1989 and still manages it today, ensuring a serene resting place with meticulous grounds-keeping and respectful upkeep of memorial sites.

Canada Dog Guides
Did you know it costs approx. $35,000 to breed, train and place Dog Guides with Canadians with disabilities? And did you know that they are provided at no cost? Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides is accredited at a national and international level and does not receive any government funding, so they need our support to continue to provide these life-changing Dog Guides!
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Canada is a free book gifting program devoted to inspiring a love of reading in young children. In partnership with Sooke Lions Club, enrolled children receive monthly, a high quality, age-appropriate book in the mail, free of charge.
Lions Recycle for Sight
Collection and redistribution of corrective lenses for low income people — plus it helps to minimize landfill waste!
