Sooke Lions Club presents a weekend of Christmas festivities with the Breakfast with Santa on Saturday and Sooke Santa Parade on Sunday as a fundraiser for the Sooke Christmas Bureau.

Every year under the SEAPARC sign on Sooke Road, Sooke Lions Club efficiently recycles holiday trees into mulch or wood chips, benefiting the environment and community green initiatives. Funds raised through the chipping service and bottle drive go directly back into the Sooke community, supporting local community programs and services.
School Breakfasts
Sooke Lions puts on pancake breakfasts for students of the four local elementary schools, Saseenos, Sooke, John Muir and Poirier, plus Journey Middle School.

Coldest Night of the Year
Hosted by Sooke Shelter Society, Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. Sooke Lions cook up BBQ hot dogs and fried onions to help keep participants warm.
Westcoast Sooke 10K Race
Annually in March, approximately 600 people attend the 10k race as well as a smaller run for children presented by Westcoast Running Club. Sooke Lions have a lot of fun providing a pancake breakfast for the many runners, families and those watching and participating in other activities.
Stuff the Van Fundraiser
March 23, 2024, we partnered with Sooke Home Hardware for a “Stuff the Van” fundraiser in memory of Lion Gerry St. Laurent. All three Sooke Lions Clubs participated and turned out in full force for this special event, cooking up our tasty hot dogs and smokies. All proceeds went to the Sooke Food Bank in Lion Gerry’s name. Thanks to all those participated! We presented a plaque that is now hanging up behind the tills.
18th Annual Duck Day Race

Presented by the Sooke Harbourside Lions Club
Watch as 3000 rubber ducks race down the Sooke River for a $1000 grand prize. Plus Sooke business’ Decorate-a-Duck contest, kids games and activities, scavenger hunt, concession and more. Proceeds donated to local charities.

Sooke Salmon Enhancement Society
SSES and Sooke River Jack Brooks Hatchery is operated by volunteers with a passion for salmon and the environment. Their mission extends beyond the hatchery to actively engage in community education, environmental stewardship and collaborative initiatives. With the invaluable support of volunteers, donors and partners, SSES is dedicated to fostering a deeper connection between people, the environment and salmon.
