Mon, July 1, 2024 11:30am – 4:00pm
Sooke River Campground
FREE Family Fun!

Sooke’s Canada Day event is made possible by over 50 volunteers including members of the Sooke Lions, Sooke Lionesses, Harbourside Lions, Rotary Club, Sooke Community Association, Chamber of Commerce and District of Sooke.

Sooke Lions Club representative Murray Lambert states, “Sooke has so many incredible and inspiring volunteers that touch every fibre of our community and without their involvement events such as Canada Day would not be possible.” He also highlighted the immense contributions of Sooke Lions President, Lion Godfrey, and member of the Sooke Lions Canada Day Committee, Kirk Jacobson.

Although there are no fireworks, there are plenty of family-friendly activities including Kid Zone with bouncy castles from Just Bounce Inflatables, a magic show, music bingo, karaoke, and an all-day dunk tank where anyone can nominate anyone to be dunked! Otter Point Volunteer Fire Department returns with their ladder truck and giant Canadian flag and will have the fire hoses out for games of hose ball. The celebration also features appearances by Ravi Parmar, Randall Garrison and Mayor Maja Tait and a special blessing from the Tluth Nation.

Sooke Lions Club Cook Shack serves hamburgers, hot dogs, smokies, french fries and onion rings at affordable prices, with all funds raised going to the sponsor Tour du Rock rider Mary-Ellen Sommerville, Sooke RCMP. Village Food Markets and Western Foods donated 400 cupcakes.
